Halloween Redux

Live-action animation based on the original 1978 cult classic horror film Halloween.

This concept is a rethinking of the title sequence for the 1978 cult classic horror film Halloween, directed by John Carpenter. This concept alludes to the childhood psychosis of Michael Meyers, the “monster” in the film. Using simple shots of childhood toys with fractured screens and interplay with blood, the concept implies the fractured mind of the young killer who grows into the monster of the narrative. The constraints of this assignment included using live action, adhering to the existing time constraints and title cards of the existing sequence to follow the legal guidelines for production. This concept also uses the iconic music from the original title sequence to assist the intensity and to edit the sequence by using beats and tonal shifts within the score.
