Exploring juxtapositions of images and music within a multi-panel projection animation.

This concept explores the juxtaposition of images through windowing in a projection mapping scenario. The narrative of this piece loosely follows a progression of images and words questioning the invasive nature of mass media and ideas of mass culture and their relationship to media consumption and profiteering. The main visuals feature interplaying juxtaposition of images to alter viewer understanding through quotational references and flashes of typography. The type used are portions of the lyrics from the A Perfect Circle song Let’s Have A War. The music for the piece is an edited version of A Perfect Circle’s Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums. The partnering of one song’s lyrics with another song’s music and vocals creates additional confusion and layering with the images, partnering sound and image to provide alternate or multiple meanings for the scenes.
